In the twenty-second episode of The Idealists (formerly Grit & Grace), Melissa interviews Dr. Nina Ansary. She is an author, a historian, a Board Member for The Center for Human Rights, and a United Nations Women Global Champion for Innovation working alongside Fashion Designer Rachel Roy and actress Zoe Saldana.

In this interview, she speaks to the transformative role women have played throughout history and why as writer Virginia Woolf wrote so many years ago, “I would venture to guess that Anon, who wrote so many poems without signing them, was often a woman.”

“The reason I profiled these women is because initially a lot of the men in their lives took credit for what these women had accomplished. And by men in their lives, I don’t mean just work colleagues… I mean husbands. Then it was found out a century later that proper credit should have gone to these men’s wives.”
